my own 'cantus firmus' for most of my 82 years on this precious planet of limited resources has been to 'simplify, simplify, reduce, reduce, and reject all temptations toward mall-ratting uber-consumerism. however it has inevitably and discouragingly fallen on deaf ears.
we can be somewhat uplifted by the statistical inevitability of our own species' demise, given that 99% of all earth's inhabitants have been dumped into the taxonomically-derived 'extinction' category. i'm sanguine our species is next. despite my having birthed 7 'Homo sapien sapiens', all of whom are environmental conservationists piping the same 'cantus firmus' as their mother's, i welcome our decline into desutude so planet earth can persist in her unimpeded evolutionary dynamics..
